Biomechanics

What is Biomechanical Analysis?

Biomechanical analysis is a tool for identifying potential causes of sports-related injuries. Using video analysis we observe how an individual’s gait and movements are being altered during a sport, as well as locate any muscle weaknesses or imbalances.

This video playback allows us to keep a record of treatment progress and to show athletes the changes in their sport-specific biomechanics over time. This visual aid enables us to locate problems more quickly, focus treatment on the areas involved and increase injury prevention by identifying patterns of movements that with time could become problematic.

We have seen the benefits of using biomechanical analysis in such sports as:

  • Running
  • Swimming
  • Cycling
  • Golfing
  • Tennis
  • Ballet & Dance
  • Baseball
  • Work Injuries
  • & More
